Obenauf’s Leather Preservative

Our preferred leather treatment, Obenauf’s is made from a combination of propolis and beeswax. Propolis is a natural antibacterial resin that resists and repels mold and bacteria. This treatment protects leather against rain or sweat, helping your saddles and bags last for years. It’s great for shoes and boots, too.

A light application of Obenauf’s Leather Preservative (LP) on the leather trim of your Berthoud bag or on your leather saddle will help repel water all season. For saddles, apply it lightly to the top (not the underside).

Pro Tip: Why not apply conditioner to both sides of the leather? We found that this can soften the leather so much that the saddle no longer holds its shape. (This applies to all leather conditioners, not just Obenauf’s.)
