Rene Herse 1″ Low-Stack Headset

$189.00

Needle bearing headsets used to be the secret upgrade to any bike. Superlight and lasting (almost forever), they were an improvement over even the best ball bearing headsets. Needle bearings—with just a touch of extra friction—also reduce the tendency of a bike to shimmy.

The Rene Herse Low-Stack Headset uses replaceable needle bearings. Precision machining ensures that the headset spins smoothly. The headset is not anodized, so it conducts electricity—important when using the frame/fork as return path for your generator lighting system. A traditional locknut allows using headset spacers and cable hangers.

The Low Stack headset is designed to fit on most bikes as a direct replacement for a worn headset. This will be the last headset you install on your bike.

Pro Tip: If ultra-low stack height is required, remove the washer underneath the locknut to gain another 2 mm. For ultra-secure headset adjustments, file the back of the steerer tube flat and use a Rene Herse Threaded Headset Spacer.
