Rene Herse 1″ Ultimate Rinko Headset
$209.00
Taking 1″ headsets to the next level: Needle bearings last as long as your bike, and provide a little damping to reduce the risk that your bike will shimmy. To ensure perfect alignment even under hard braking, the upper and lower bearings are oriented in opposite directions. Circlip retainers keep the bearings inside the cups when you remove the fork from the frame for travel.
The Rene Herse Ultimate Rinko Headset uses replaceable needle bearings. The headset is not anodized, so it conducts electricity—important when using the frame/fork as the return path for your generator lighting system. A traditional locknut allows using headset spacers and cable hangers. For ultra-secure headset adjustments, file the back of the steerer tube flat and use a Rene Herse Threaded Headset Spacer.
Pro Tip: To insert the circlip in the headset cup, start with one end of the circlip and push it into the groove in the headset cup in a spiraling motion. To remove, pull up one end of the circlip (photo). Do not try to compress the entire circlip to reduce its diameter!
