Rene Herse Stem Tube

$12.00$13.00

The Rene Herse Aluminum Stem clamps to a tube that is brazed into the (threaded) steerer tube of a standard fork. This allows the stem to be smaller (and lighter), and it keeps the inside of the steerer tube empty for easy installation of a light switch.

The tube can also be epoxied into the steerer tube, using aircraft-grade epoxy. Please consult with a qualified framebuilder about installing the tube.

Important: Just like the quill of a stem, the tube must extend beyond the threaded part of the steerer tube.

Pro Tip: Make sure to allow for the headset top nut when dimensioning the tube. The tube should extend at least 35 mm beyond the threaded portion of the steerer. Also don’t forget to paint the tube – it will be exposed between stem and headset top nut.
