Restock: TPU Tubes and Ladelux Lights

This is just a short note about two shipments we received. Our popular TPU tubes are back in stock. Even more than a year after we introduced these superlight and superfast tubes with patented leak-proof all-metal valves, demand outstrips the production capacities of our supplier in Germany at times. A few models have been out of stock lately, but now we’ve received another shipment. Back-ordered tubes are being shipped right now, and all models are available—for now.

Why are customers so excited about our TPU tubes? It comes down to six things:

Ultra Light:

• 1/4 the weight of standard butyl tubes
• 1/3 the weight of ultralight butyl tubes
• 1/3 the weight of tubeless sealant

Ultra Small:

• 1/4 the volume of standard butyl tubes. That makes them ideal as spares; also as a backup if you run your tires tubeless.

Ultra Fast:

• Less rolling resistance than butyl tubes or tubeless
• Similar resistance as lightweight latex tubes, but without air leakage.

Ultra Tough:

• TPU is much stronger than butyl or latex.
• We’ve increased the thickness slightly, adding just a few grams to gain even more pinch flat and puncture protection.
• Rdden in Unbound XL (above) and during my recent FKT ride on the Oregon Cascade Volcanic Arc bikepacking route without any issues.

Low Maintenance:

• All-metal valves don’t leak air like many TPU tubes with plastic valve stems that deform when the metal valve core is screwed in.

• Easy to patch: Wipe with alcohol and stick on the self-adhesive patch. No sandpaper or vulcanizing fluid required.

• TPU tube sealant seals small punctures.That’s 4.

That’s five. The sixth is the amazing ride feel that makes TPU tubes the perfect complement for supple high-performance tires.

Our TPU tubes covers all tires sizes in the Rene Herse program, plus some. The program is simple and logical. Rene Herse TPU tubes come in:

• 3 widths:
  • Narrow: 20-32 mm (700C only)
  • Medium: 30-48 mm
  • Wide: 45-68 mm
• 2 diameters:
  • 700C / 29″
  • 650B / 27.5″ / 26″
• 3 valves:
  • 50 mm Presta polished
  • 50 mm Presta black
  • 70 mm Presta black

That makes it easy to find the right tubes for your wheels.

Our first shipment of the new SON Ladelux headlights with their high- and low-beam, charging port and sophisticated electronics sold out quickly. We just got another shipment that includes Ladelux headlights with pre-installed coaxial connectors. Simply plug the Ladelux into your generator hub, connect the switch, and you are ready to go. In the future, if you want to custom-tailor the wire length to your installation, just cut off the excess wire and solder on a new coaxial connector.
